The best way to make a difference in making sure your achieving the highest levels of fiber required is to start by simply changing to more healthy eating habits. Start out by eating between five and 10 servings of fruits and vegetables daily as a serving adds up to 1 cup of uncooked fruits and vegetables or half a cup of cooked fruits and vegetables.
Fiber is crucial in the removal of fecal matter from the body in a timely manner. If fecal matter is not removed from the body in a timely manner, the consequences are that it dries up and gets stuck inside our intestines. For a typical American diet, the removal of fecal matter is between 40 and 65 hours which is way too long and therefore increases the risk of dried fecal to the intestines. Keep in mind that certain foods we eat after this long time inside our bodies will rot inside us and cause additional damage to the intestines as well as the increase in free radical damage. Instead of food nourishing the body it now becomes toxic to it. These are some of the reasons that this country suffers from a high rate of colon cancer. This is why it is crucial to get enough fiber in our diets so that we can remove fecal matter from our colons as soon as possible. The average person who consumes a high fiber diet will have extracted time of between 20 to 45 hours.
On top of these benefits that fiber does the body, it also reduces the pressure on colon walls by softening the feces. This in turn makes bowel movements much easier. Fiber also:
• lowers cholesterol
• maintains blood sugar levels
• release toxic chemicals that we ingest
• converts carcinogenic substances into safe elements
Fatty Acids
We need to consider our intake of essential fatty acids because as the name suggests, they are essential. Good sources of essential acids can be found in fish, nuts, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds. Flax seeds are another good source of essential fatty acids. By adding fish to your diet two three times a week as well as some type of nuts on a regular basis, your body will be able to have an easier time of eliminating harmful toxins.
Listening
Always remember, to listen to your body when it’s time to go to the bathroom because ignoring this only adds more problems to the elimination process.
Exercise
The body was designed to move, and exercise is the best way to achieve this.
